HeartMath now offers an app/sensor for Andriod users! As a droid girl, I have always been disappointed that they had the portable version for iOS. We offer sessions on the desktop version in the office if you would like to come a little earlier or stay later at your appointment (only in the Medford office) and we will offer the portable version on loan to our clients. If you would like to purchase your own version, you won’t regret it, simply click on the picture below.
It is as simple as a sensor and an app. The sensor clips to your ear and relays your breathing information to the app and you can watch your progress on the screen. You can exercise your lungs as part of a quick work break and you will never have to shower after 🙂 Just a few minutes a day can be very beneficial and you can keep the sensor in your purse or pocket to use during or after stressful situations to help “calm your nerves”.
This technology has been used by hospitals, NASA and even the military to improve breathing techniques. You would be surprised by how shallow our breathing tends to be and at how greatly that effects our nervous system. It has been shown to substantially improve cases involving PTSD, cardiac arrhythmia, chronic fatigue, anxiety, fibromyalgia, hypertension, diabetes, congestive heart failure, depression, environmental sensitivities, chronic pain, etc.
“Their studies using HeartMath techniques and technology have been published in many peer reviewed journals including; The American Journal of Cardiology, Harvard Business Review and Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.”
